How Does Destiny Affect Relationships?

Question: Dear Luise: I’m a 31 year old girl from Romania, since 4 year living in Kuwait. The place I’m living now has not the greatest dating scene as there are not many European or westerners in general, living here. Do you think that if it is to find love one would find it even at the North pole or one should be in a place with more chances? I mean is it pure destiny or we can help it too? Waiting for my soul mate and, at the moment, I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. Nancy

Answer: Dear Nancy: We never have any way of knowing if we are to stay or go in advance. It’s only after the fact that we say a move was perfect or less than perfect. I am a firm believer in the old adage, “God helps those who help themselves”. And yet, how do you do that? I, for one, would not go looking at the North Pole! LOL! I’d stack the odds in my favor in every way I could and help “destiny” out.

One of the ways to do that is to create your present life being fuller and more satisfying. When you are happy, you become a magnate. “Sick and tired” doesn’t have much draw. Would it make your heart sing to relocate and to live among more people that you could relate to and feel comfortable with? We make choices in life, all along the way, and then circumstances play out that may well seem like destiny. If you choose to find out how you can create a full and happy life for yourself, I think you stack the deck in your favor. Does that make sense to you? Over and over I have seen that those who feel complete and don’t need a relationship are the ones who find one that works. So, my advice is to give up waiting and start living. Blessings, Luise
