Looking for Senior RVing Buddies

Question: Dear Luise: My wife and I are 70/77 yrs old and travel in a Class C Coachman, Leprechaun. Our problem is in finding and older couple or group to travel and camp with. If you know of any senior camping groups anywhere near Tallahassee FL, we sure would love to know of them. Thanks, E.

Dear E.: Go to: http://www.escapees.com They are totally amazing and offer all kinds of caravaning and events for Senior RVers all over the country. Their headquarters are near Lake Livingston in Texas, north and east of Houston, if I remember correctly.

I think you and your wife will be delighted with the community they have put together that was created by Senior RVers for Senior RVers. The Escapees have many totally remarkable and innovative concepts. The last I heard, they were even building a park, or parks, where members could live in their RVs after they had become too old to travel anymore and had to “hang up their keys”…plus they have a nursing home that is being staffed by their own volunteers.

The founders just started out looking for companionship and commonality and it grew from there.

I would highly recommend that you get in touch with them, join their ranks and take a trip to their headquarters to get further acquainted. Happy trails! Blessings, Luise

P.S. My son just bought a (like new) 1982 Coachman travel trailer, (Royal.) They’re built to last! 🙂

I am 80 years old and love to pull my 20 foot trailer any where in USA especially in eastern part. Looking for meeting and caravaning with folks my age and interests. I have a little dog and am in no hurry. J.

Hi J. I’m putting together a web-Forum where you will be able to interact with others. It can happen here but is more cumbersome. I’ll let you know s soon as it’s up and running. Blessings, Luise
