Sandblasting for the Travel Trailer VIN

Question: Dear Luise: I have a camper trailer from the late 60’s early 70’s made by TRI STATE Sticker high on the front and Back Say TRI STATE in large letters in smaller print it says Tri State Traveler, White Pigeon, Michigan. I have searched and searched for the VIN and can not find one anywhere. Is there anyone who has any Idea where the VIN might be located? I want to restore this Camper and use it, however I want to get it license before I spend any more money on it. It is about 16 foot long single axle and weighs about 1500 lbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A.

Answer: Dear A.: One reader wrote that the VIN for travel trailers is always impressed on the tongue. It gets covered up with rust, dirt, paint and whatever. The only way he found his was by doing some very careful paint removal, sanding and a little, cautious sandblasting. Blessings, Luise
