Kodak Easyshare Digital Camera
Question: Dear Luise: I wonder if you are a camera buff, and if so, do you know anything about the Kodak Easyshare Digital Cameras? I’ve been looking at one but I’m hesitant to purchase it unless I’m sure it will give me what I need. I’m not a serious photographer and am not interested in learning much about it, to tell you the truth. What I want is something I can take on a trip and not have to worry about, (except for fresh batteries.) Do you do much picture taking? Or have you even heard of what I’m describing? Thanks, Thelma
Answer: Dear Thelma: I hate to admit this, but I’m a camera borrower. I have a “sort of daughter”, Donna, who takes really great pictures. She often lends me her non-professional camera. I just called her and she says it’s a Kodak Easyshare DX4530 but, unfortunately, that model is no longer being made. She says Kodak currently has tons of other Easyshare models. Go to: www.kodak.com and have a look-see.
If I were you, I’d probably hit a camera shop or two in the malls where you can talk with a salesperson. You might get lucky and find one who is interested in your particular needs. Go on a weekday, early afternoon, when they aren’t busy and you may get the undivided attention of a bored clerk.
Have you ever used Ebay? I just looked there and they have oodles of new and used digital cameras for sale including the one I’ve been borrowing. If you know what you want, an auction can be an economical way to get it.
I would also like to suggest you talk with friends and find out what they have, especially those who travel. Find out what they swear by and why. I know it makes a difference where you are going if you are going to be using a battery charger. Electrical outlets in other countries need to be taken into consideration.
I actually think, now that you have planted the seed, that I will go so far as to get a digital camera of my own. What a novel concept. Thanks! It will probably be a used Kodak Easyshare DX4530 for no other reason than I am used to handling one of those and have had excellent results with it. And Kodak has been around for eons…I like that. Blessings, Luise
