I’m Not Understanding This At All

Question: Dear Luise: After so many years of me having to rescue my son from his father and his family: people who had him medicated and beat him he is loyal to them more than me. I guess kids just go where the money is? He is now 19 years old. In the last few years I have become increasingly ill and was finally diagnosed with cancerous bacteria all thru my body. I am fighting to survive in order to just get thru a terrible economy and heal myself. Times when I’ve needed my son the most, he has been loyal to all of these other people and has not once been there for me? I have made mistakes in my life, but am not understanding this at all. When I point it out to him, I am the bad guy. I feel like I don’t even have a son and that there is very little hope for out relationship at this point. What would you do Luise? P.

Answer: Dear P.: It is not understandable and it is happening to so many mothers that I have created a Web-forum for this topic. Please come over to www.WiseWomenUnite.com . You will find support and understanding there. Blessings, Luise

About Luise Volta

Luise’s long life has brought her to being the great grandmother of four teenagers. Born in 1927, the miles in between her teens and theirs have been full of falling and getting up, learning and growing and then falling and getting up again. A normal, though not simple, process. She has had diverse careers in nursing, teaching preschool, interior design, Real Estate sales, insurance adjusting and dairy herd testing. She’s lived in the Mid-west, South and West Coast. Luise is married to the love of her life, Val, born in 1911. Their little terrier, “Rosa,” makes most of the major decisions at their house, (or thinks she does).
