Why Have I Been Found Guilty?

Question; Dear Luise: Someone reported my DIL to the child protection people and I have been wrongly accused of doing it. I have tried to clear myself with the family and the agency but to no avail. In the meantime a new grandchild has arrived prematurely and I have been excluded from any contact. Is there anything I can do? K.

Answer: Dear K.: For you to be falsely accused and have no defense is a terrible injustice and I know of nothing you can do. Someone had to be blamed and you were handy. You have tried to explain and have not been heard. I don’t know of anything else except to leave it the way it is and hope and pray the truth will come out, eventually. You deserve so much better than this and so do your grandchildren, who are going to miss you terribly. I’m so sorry you have to face this unfairness.

About Luise Volta

Luise’s long life has brought her to being the great grandmother of four teenagers. Born in 1927, the miles in between her teens and theirs have been full of falling and getting up, learning and growing and then falling and getting up again. A normal, though not simple, process. She has had diverse careers in nursing, teaching preschool, interior design, Real Estate sales, insurance adjusting and dairy herd testing. She’s lived in the Mid-west, South and West Coast. Luise is married to the love of her life, Val, born in 1911. Their little terrier, “Rosa,” makes most of the major decisions at their house, (or thinks she does).
